Bug Season Makes for Interesting Close ups!

I am fascinated with close ups of both bugs and flowers. Not that I’d like this bug in my house or sitting on my shoulder, but it is so very delicate looking and his body a brilliant lime green. Take a look at the center of the flower. Amazing patterns. Bruce at GeometryCode.com says “the seed head spirals — one goes clock-wise the other counter clock-wise — are consecutive Fibonacci numbers.” If interested find out more about geometrical patterns here!

Opps, it looks like the bug had a few bits off the petals already!

Together ~ Apart

My husband and I had to live apart for almost 2 years because of consulting work. I decided to represent how I felt…Apart~Together and Together~Apart represent how I felt during those times.

A Sphere – Good Example of Shading

This is a charcoal drawing, an example of how to draw light and it’s reflection on a sphere.

This image was used in my husband, Bruce Rawles book by the title Sacred Geometry Design Sourcebook – Universal Dimensional Patterns. Cool, huh! If he hadn’t published it, this drawing would be long gone. It’s official, then, I am an illustrator! Thanks Bruce!

Chiaroscuro – Pearascuro!

I really enjoy working with acrylic paints, they are so forgiving and so much fun. Here is an avocado and a pear I created. I called the pear Pearascuro because of the intense light and dark or chiaroscuro.

{Chiaroscuro in art is characterized by strong contrasts between light and dark, usually bold contrasts affecting a whole composition.}
